Grandma’s Beef Stew September 23, 2012

This stew is one of my family’s favorite meals. In recent years, we have made it on Halloween night, to eat while the trick or treaters come. It is so good and really easy to make. All you do is, chop up a few veggies, throw them in the crock pot with some meat, and seasoning. Let it hang out for a few hours and voila, you have an awesome stick to your ribs, soul warming meal.

This recipe comes from my grandma Muse. It is a wonderful meal to make in the fall and it is great as leftovers.

Grandma’s Beef Stew

2-3 pounds of Beef Stew meat

2 stalks celery cut into chunks (I used three stalks, I love celery in the stew)

1 bag carrots cut into chunks

3 large potatoes pealed and cut into chunks

2 tsp basil

1 tsp salt

½ tsp pepper

1 can tomato soup

1 package of brown gravy

1 cup water

Combine all ingredients in crock pot.  Cook for 8-10 hours on low or 5-6 hours on high.
