Bean and Bacon Stew October 7, 2013

This recipe is from our neighbor Julie. When I got the recipe I knew I had to make it. Recently, we ate this at a small barbecue our neighbor threw and it was fantastic. It tastes similar to baked beans. I served it with French bread.
Give it a try, you will love it!

Bean and Bacon Stew
1 can white kidney beans
1 can pork and beans
1 can red kidney beans
1 lb hamburger (browned)
1/2 lb bacon, cooked lightly so it’s not crisp
1 c chopped onions
1/2 c ketchup
1 tsp dry mustard
3/4 c brown sugar
2 tsp vinegar

Combine all ingredients in a crockpot and cook on low for 1-2 hours. Or, combine all ingredients in large pot and cook on stove at med high until heated through, then simmer on low for 20 minutes.
