Here is a simple recipe for a delicious Southern casserole. My mom found this recipe, and we made it for dinner. It tastes similar to a chicken pot pie. It is a great comfort food meal.
The key for this recipe is absolutely no stirring, once everything is in the casserole dish. The recipe states this several times and the results are great. The top looks like a biscuit. Here is a suggestion; add peas and carrots or any vegetables you want as another layer.

Chicken and Dumpling Casserole
Do not stir anything
2 chicken breasts cooked and shredded (or you can use a rotisserie chicken from the store)
2 cups chicken broth
½ stick butter
2 cups bisquick (Gluten Free Bisquick)
2 cups milk
1 can cream of chicken soup
3 tsps chicken granules Wylers (1 and ½ chicken bouillon cubes, crushed)
½ tsp dried sage
1 tsp black pepper
½ tsp salt, or more to taste
Preheat oven to 350.
In a 9-13 baking dish, melt ½ stick butter. Spread shredded chicken over butter. Sprinkle black pepper and dried sage over this layer. Do not stir.
In small bowl, mix milk and bisquick. Slowly pour over chicken. Do not stir.
In medium bowl, whisk together 2 cups chicken broth, chicken granules and soup. When blended, slowly pour over the bisquick layer. Do not stir.
Bake uncovered, for 30-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
